The dawn of a new year always feels like opening a fresh journal, the pages crisp and inviting, whispering with the promise of stories yet to be written. This year, I’m stepping into this chapter with a heart full of intention and a mind focused on growth. The theme of 2025? Becoming the healthiest, strongest, smartest, and most peaceful version of myself. This year also marks the first time I have ever created a digital vision board, a process that has already sparked inspiration and clarity. I even have a vision board meeting planned for the end of this week to build on this momentum.
Health and Fitness:
For years, health has been apart of my thought process/lifestyle. This year, I’m amplifying it. It’s not just about choosing organic or maintaining a non-toxic home; it’s about becoming physically and mentally resilient. I’ve created a detailed wellness guide—a culmination of research and personal trials—that I’ll be following and sharing throughout the year. Stay tuned for a dedicated blog post on this soon.
In terms of fitness, I’m starting small, focusing on daily walks, gentle stretches, and incorporating Peloton workouts into my routine. I also want to explore calisthenics, finding joy in movement that builds strength and flexibility. And for the soul? Daily walks, the kind that reconnect me with nature and leave me refreshed and grounded.
Motherhood: Navigating the Chaos with Grace
Motherhood is a mosaic of moments, and this year, I want to lean into each one with more patience and presence. Homeschooling my children has been a journey of discovery—for them and for me. This year, I’m weaving in more life skills into our curriculum, teaching them not just academics but also the art of resilience and creativity.
Our family mornings will start with gratitude journaling, a practice I’m excited to nurture. I want my kids to see the beauty in the everyday, just as I strive to. At our dinner table, we each share two things we are happy for, a tradition that brings joy and connection to our evenings. This year, I’ll start writing down what we say, preserving these moments of gratitude as a cherished family memory. And as they grow, so do I—learning, adapting, and cherishing the unique bond we share.
Work: Building with Purpose
As a personal assistant, entering my third year my role is built on organization, adaptability, and intuition. This year, I’m setting clear boundaries, ensuring that while I give my best to my work, I also reserve time for myself and my family. My goal is to refine my systems, streamline tasks, and continue to provide exceptional support—all while maintaining balance.
In tandem with this, I’ll be working alongside my best friend to begin outlining our book on strong friendships. It’s a project close to my heart, and I’m thrilled to bring it to life this year.
Additionally, I am excited to begin a new role as a lecturer at a California State University. Teaching at the collegiate level has been a long-time dream, and I can’t wait to connect with students, share knowledge, and grow in this new chapter of my professional journey.
Family: Healing and Re-connection
2024 was a hard season for my family. I experienced the pain of losing connection with a few family members, a reality that brought both sorrow and reflection. However, one of the brightest parts of my family journey has been the relationship with my mother. After years of a rough relationship, we began reconnecting in 2022. For the past two years, we’ve committed to seeing each other once a month, and this has become my favorite journey. This year, my focus is on healing and rebuilding where possible while also cherishing and deepening the relationships that remain strong.
Family time will include intentional gatherings, heart-to-heart conversations, and creating traditions that bind us closer. I’ve learned that family dynamics evolve, but the love we hold can guide us through the most challenging seasons.
Friendships: Strengthening My Circle
Friendships have always been a cornerstone of my life, offering joy, stability, and growth. This year, I want to focus on reconnecting with old friends, nurturing new connections, and deepening the bonds I already cherish. I deeply miss my childhood friend and hope to reconnect this year. I’m also incredibly grateful for the two homeschool mom friends I met in 2022. Our weekly Tuesday gatherings have become a cherished part of my routine, and I look forward to strengthening those connections further.
My partner, who started as a dear friend, has grown into the most significant part of my life. While ours is not a romantic connection, it is a deeply meaningful partnership that has brought stability, joy, and immense growth. This relationship has taught me how a friend can truly become family.
This year, I’m committed to creating intentional moments with all my friends, whether through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, or simply being present. Friendships require care and intention, and I’m excited to nurture and grow these bonds in ways that bring light and inspiration into our lives.
Grad School: Semester two
The journey of pursuing my Master’s degree is exhilarating and challenging in equal measure. This year, I’m diving deeper into my studies, aiming to not just excel but truly embody the knowledge I’m gaining. My goal is to dedicate focused study blocks, explore new research, and connect with peers who inspire and challenge me. At the same time, I want to ensure that grad school does not consume my entire identity. I’m setting a goal to carve out intentional times to step away from my studies and explore other parts of my life, finding balance and perspective.
I’ll also be integrating my academic journey into my blog, sharing lessons learned and insights gained. It’s my way of weaving my learning into the fabric of my life and hopefully inspiring others in the process.
Home: Creating a Sanctuary
Home is where my mosaic comes together. This year, I’m focusing on decluttering—not just the physical spaces but also the emotional and mental clutter that accumulates. A simplified, serene environment is my goal, with each corner of our home radiating peace and purpose.
I’ll be exploring new organizational systems and DIY projects to make our space more functional and beautiful. The kitchen, in particular, will see a transformation as I refine our meal planning and prep routines to align with our health goals.
Self: Peace in the Quiet Moments
At the heart of all my goals is the desire for inner peace. This year, I’m committed to daily mindfulness practices—meditation, journaling, and simply sitting in silence. I want to be present in the moment, to embrace life with open arms and a calm heart.
My partner has been an incredible source of inspiration in this area. Watching her dedicate time to reading, journaling, meditating, and using a habit tracker has motivated me to prioritize my own self-care and personal growth in these ways. I plan to integrate these practices into my daily routine, creating a rhythm that nurtures my mind, body, and spirit, while strengthening the bond that we share.
Reading for pleasure will also take center stage, with a growing stack of books that promise to both challenge and comfort me. And perhaps most importantly, I’ll be setting aside time for myself—to dream, to rest, and to simply be.
